We are honoured to have been nominated annually for Best Local Independent Yarn Store - Scotland since 2013, winning 3 times. We are truly grateful to all of our wonderful customers who make this all possible. We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated again this yeaar!
Once a pre-Covid staple of TYC, we are slowly dipping our toes back into the world of Trunk Shows where we host a local indy-dyer to sell their wares in our shop. Come along and have a squish and a slice of cake! Here is a photo of Jon from Dystopic Fibre at our most recent one. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for the next one or sign up to our mailing list for the alerts!
Here at The Yarn Cake we understand how daunting getting into knitting and crocheting can be. Whilst there is nothing wrong with Youtube and many (many) dropped stitches, we offer some classes either on a one-off or a 4 week course. We have none at the moment but they tend to sell out pretty quickly so let us know if you are interested.
Hand-dyed YarnOrganise a Virtual Consult
As well as the commercial stuff, we also stock a colourful range of local hand-dyers; Dystopic Fibre, For the Love of Yarn and, Mothy and the Squid. As they are constantly changing and updating, contact us to arrange a virtual consult to see what we have in stock.
Since cake and coffee do not ship well in the post we don't sell them here but if you ever find yourself in Glasgow, pop in for a slice and a squish of yarn in person! Our Knitting Nook is the perfect place to catch up with friends, family or just to indulge in a slice of cake. Dogs are welcome but no cats (for obvious reasons).
Looking for things to do when visiting in Glasgow? Just moved to the area and looking to make friends? Everyone is welcome at our weekly knit night, Thursdays 6pm-9pm. Come along for a slice of cake and a pot of our speciality teas and knit or crochet the night away.
