TYC Highlights

We're always happy to help, be it in person or online. We're not just a yarn cafe, we are a hub of the crafting community here in Glasgow. Scroll down to find out a bit more about what we do.

  • Trunk Shows!

Once a month we host a local indy-dyer to sell their wares in our shop. Come along and have a squish and a slice of cake! Keep an eye out on our Instagram for the next one or sign up to our mailing list for the
    alerts!

  • Classes

Here at The Yarn Cake, we understand how daunting getting
into knitting and crocheting can be. Whilst there is nothing wrong with Youtube and many (many) dropped stitches, we offer some classes either on a one-off or a 4-week course.

    Events

From our flagship event, The Glasgow School of Yarn to cosy
evening sessions in the shop, we are always looking for excuses to get together with yarny friends. Click the link below for more information or keep an eye out on our socials for announcements.

  • Hand-dyed Yarn

As well as the commercial stuff, we also stock a colourful range of local hand-dyers. Keep an eye out on the socials for who we're stocking at the moment, As they are constantly changing and updating, contact us to arrange a virtual consult to see what we have in stock.

  • Café

Since cake and coffee do not ship well in the post we don't sell them here but if you ever find yourself in Glasgow, pop in for a slice and a squish of yarn in person! Our Knitting Nook is the perfect place to catch up with friends, family or just to indulge in a slice of cake from Bad Mum Bakery. Dogs are welcome but no cats (for obvious reasons).

  • Knit Night

Looking for things to do when visiting in Glasgow? Just
moved to the area and looking to make friends? Book a slot at our twice-weekly Knit Nights, Thursdays from 6pm-9pm and Sundays from 5pm to 8pm. Chat with fellow crafters, have a slice of cake (or two) and knit or crochet the night away!

  • Spinning

Want to dip your toe into the world of spinning? As well as selling drop spindles, we offer spinning wheels for hire and sell spinning wheels on an individual basis! Every 3rd Sunday we host Spin Sundays where you can bring along your spinning materials.
