Shetland Wool Week Annual 2023

The Shetland Wool Week Annual 2023, Volume Nine takes its inspiration from the hues, textures and detail of Shetland’s rugged coastline and natural landscape. This issue includes 12 different Fair Isle, lace and weaving patterns by 11 Shetland designers who bring very personal touches and a depth of detail to their work. As always, Shetland wool takes centre stage, with its endless colour options, warmth and durability. Our features bring a deeper insight into some of the people who are involved in the wonderful world of Shetland wool – all playing a role to ensure that its heritage lives on.

Shetland Wool Week was established in 2010 and is a world-renowned celebration of Britain’s most northerly native sheep, the Shetland textile industry and the rural farming community on these islands. Shetland wool is a world-class natural fibre, with a long-standing reputation for quality, strength and excellence from fleece to textile products. Shetland knitwear has a deserved respect gained from many generations of hard-working knitters and crofters producing some of the finest lace and Fair Isle knitwear. and continues to grow each year with an increasing worldwide following.
